I was thrilled to join the cast in this critically-acclaimed, important limited series from Netflix. Lisa Cholodenko has been on my bucket list for directors to work with ever since I saw The Kids Are Alright.
"Deborah is a great actor... intuitive and skilled, willing to be present to the material and it's imaginary circumstance, present to her fellow actors, present to her director... willing to take the trip... to share herself through the character.... brilliant!!!!... and brave enough to risk acting on inspiration .... I directed Deborah in a poignant portrayal of a woman who would rather die then return to her controlling husband ... Her work was exemplary and the process was a pleasure and the result illuminating." -Helen Shaver, director (Revolution, Orphan Black, Person of Interest and many more)
Written by David Lindsay-Abaire. Directed by Sam Raimi. Walt Disney Pictures.
By far the most magical experience I've had on film to date: going to work every day on the Yellow Brick Road. Also my first time working with director Sam Raimi, who's an absolute dream of a director for actors. DP

The story of my audition for Alan Ball became one of the most popular posts on my blog. My friend Audrey Fisher. the head costumer on TB, found that incredible vintage dressing gown I wore--she and I first met when she costumed me for Tryst at the Black Dahlia Theater and for which she won the Ovation Award. Her work on True Blood was insane--so good. DP
I had so much fun working alongside the oh-so-kind George Lopez on the pilot episode of his new, very funny show. Also starring? Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Snoop Dog. Woof!
Behind the scenes fact: director Troy Miller swapped out his own Black Card for the prop version. I learned that day that Black Cards are heavy and could likely hurt you if you dropped one on your foot.
Good old Criminal Minds. What else can I say?
